A Theory of Justice - The Musical

Billed as ‘an all-singing, all dancing romp through 2500 years of political philosophy’, ‘A Theory of Justice: The Musical’ follows American philosopher, John Rawls on a journey through time and space, as he tries to find inspiration for his book and win the heart of a beautiful student named Fairness, whilst also trying to fend off villains – Robert Nozick and Ayn Rand. The show, originally developed by Oxford University students was brought brilliantly to Cardiff for its Welsh premiere by director Sarah Roberts, to be performed wonderfully by students of Cardiff University’s drama society, Act One. Matthew Hutchinson and Imogen John gave expert performances as Rawls and Fairness, respectively, and James Paine and Emily Broad brought a high level of comedy with their respective performances of the show’s two villains, Nozick and Rand. The production also boasted a highly talented ensemble cast whose energy and enthusiasm entranced the audience – Mike Fahey’s performance as Immanuel Kant will forever be etched into people’s minds! ‘A Theory of Justice’ was truly an incredible show, and Miss Roberts and her production team should be very proud for bringing this show to life again for a whole new audience to experience.

'A Theory of Justice' is running until Saturday 7th March at Cardiff YMCA.
